KYB Corporation has launched an annual cycle of sports and eco-friendly events, “Plums for Trash,” taking place monthly in the plogging format — jogging while collecting litter along city and park routes.

On September 25, the KYB team, together with the NGO “We Together,” active Varna residents, and the Ukrainian community, held the first event. Volunteers cleaned forest trails at the end of the tourist season, tidied areas around popular landmarks, and ensured a comfortable environment for residents and visitors.

The first plogging route ran along scenic trails of Golden Sands Nature Park near Aladzha Monastery, including the Jubilee and Kofshak springs and the Baba Yaga hut. Participants received T-shirt patches in the shape of plums, inspired by the Bulgarian folk tale “Plums for Trash.” The most active volunteer across all 12 events will earn the grand prize from KYB.

The main goal of the monthly plogging is to promote waste sorting and maintain cleanliness in urban spaces, forests, and tourist routes in Varna.

“For KYB, it is important not only to build modern homes and infrastructure but also to create environments where people enjoy living. We are responsible for the places where we operate, which is why we launched the ‘Plums for Trash’ initiative. This is more than just plogging — it is a symbol that clean cities and care for nature shape the future. The collected plastic will be recycled and transformed into an art installation. Initiatives like this are why KYB remains more than just a construction company: a reliable partner to cities and their residents,” said KYB founder Oleg Nevzorov.

During the first plogging, 38 bags of waste were collected. KYB thanks all participants for their engagement and invites everyone to join the upcoming monthly “Plums for Trash” events to make Varna cleaner and more welcoming.
